What to do when your car overheats?

BLOGPOST_CarOverHeating03172022.jpgRoll all your windows down and turn your heater on high. This will help pull some of the heat off the motor.
Find a safe place to pull over and shut the car off.

Turn on your emergency flashers.

Call your local tow company or AAA.

Exit the vehicle and open the hood to allow some additional heat out from under the hood.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT OPEN the cooling system until you are 100% sure it is cooled off enough tohave no pressure within the system. Nothing worse than a quick case of 3rd degree burns. That coolant/anti freeze can reach temperatures easily over 300 degrees.

Once tow company arrives, have them tow your car to your auto mechanic. If you don't have one, you can have it tow to us - Luke's Automotive in Redmond 15145 NE 90th Street Redmond, WA 98052 -425-885-4333!
