Remember folks, summertime trips and vacations are just around the corner. Schedule your vehicle in early for that pre-trip inspection and service. There is nothing better than a safe family outing. To make sure your car is ready for the road, here are a few key things that are included in a thorough pre-trip inspection and service:

  • Tire Check and Rotation: Ensuring your tires have proper tread and pressure can prevent blowouts and improve fuel efficiency. Don’t forget to check the spare tire too!

  • Fluid Levels: All essential fluids should be checked and topped off, including engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid.

  • Battery Test: A quick test can confirm that your battery is in good condition and can handle the summer heat.

  • Brakes Inspection: Safety first! Make sure your brake pads and rotors are in good shape to avoid any mishaps on the road.

  • Air Conditioning System: Summer trips can get hot. Ensure your AC is working properly to keep everyone cool and comfortable.

  • Lights and Signals: Check all headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals to ensure they are functioning correctly.

  • Wiper Blades: Good visibility is crucial. Replace old or worn-out wiper blades to ensure they can handle summer showers.

  • Belts and Hoses: Inspect for any signs of wear and tear. Replacing them before they break can save you from being stranded.

  • Alignment and Suspension: A smooth ride is a happy ride. Checking your alignment and suspension can prevent uneven tire wear and improve handling.

  • Emergency Kit: Ensure your car has an updated emergency kit, including items like a first-aid kit, flashlight, jumper cables, and basic tools.

By taking care of these essential maintenance tasks, you can ensure a worry-free and enjoyable road trip with your family. Safe travels and happy driving!
