I have worked in and around this Automotive Industry almost my entire life. Hell i have tools that were my Step Father's back in the 60's still in my tool box today. If i remember correctly, i think he even worked at Sears for a short time as a Mechanic in the late 50's or early 60's.
Sears Automotive Centers had become a way of life for lots of folks. I remember sitting in the waiting room trying to peak out the dirty windows to see what was getting fixed and if our car was next. If you were there late enough, and no one was around, one of the guys would sneak out and take you back for a quick look around. (Absolutely a boys dream coming true).
It truly is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to such an Institution that was the starting point for many a "Mechanic"" in the day. Best of luck to all the past and present Men and Women that worked there.
